1. melt 1 stick butter in a medium saucepan until slightly bubbly, then add 1 chopped garlic clove
2. stir for 1 minute, then add ¼ cup sage leaves and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes until the butter turns lightly brown with a nutty aroma
3. season the sauce with black pepper
4. serve with poultry or roasted vegetables
